Alexis Mac Allister transfer latest as Liverpool joined by Man City and Man United
Liverpool will face competition from Manchester City as the battle for Alexis Mac Allister intensifies.
Having taken the decision earlier this year to move away from a pursuit for the £130m-rated Jude Bellingham at Borussia Dortmund, the Reds have earmarked Argentina international Mac Allister as one of their primary targets ahead of a critical summer at Anfield.
Liverpool, however, are already facing competition from top-four rivals Manchester United in their pursuit of the 2022 World Cup winner and recently-crowned Premier League champions City are now reportedly keen on the 24-year-old Mac Allister. The midfielder has been a standout performer for a Brighton side who are closing in on Europa League qualification for the first time in their history.

Liverpool contact PGMOL for explanation over two 'wrong' decisions vs Aston Villa
Liverpool have contacted the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) to ask for clarification regarding two controversial decisions in their 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.
Roberto Firmino's last-minute equaliser earned the Reds a share of the spoils in the final home game of the season. However, it could have been a late winner had referee, John Brooks, not disallowed an earlier Cody Gakpo strike for offside after a VAR review.
The official, who Jurgen Klopp infamously celebrated in the face of during Liverpool's 4-3 victory against Tottenham last month, chalked off the Dutchman's goal after being sent to check the VAR monitor for an offside in the build-up.
Gakpo was also involved in another controversial incident in the first half, meanwhile, when defender Tyrone Mings escaped a red card despite a chest-high challenge on him. Mings was booked for the tackle, with VAR ruling that no further action was necessary - as well as not asking Brooks to check the monitor himself on that occasion.
