Jesse Marsch knows how frustrating relegation-threatened opponents can be for sides challenging for the title.
He experienced it during his time in the MLS with New York Red Bulls, and in Austria with Red Bull Salzburg. The roles will be reversed for Marsch when Leeds face Manchester City at Elland Road on Saturday evening - and he has called on his players to frustrate the hell out of Pep Guardiola’s title chasers.
In a battle cry that will delight Liverpool fans, Marsch wants his Leeds players to be “annoying” and “pesky” and throw a spanner in the works of City’s well-oiled machine. Leeds are just as desperate for the points as City and Marsch is conscious Everton and Burnley have closed the gap in the fight for survival.
