Australia's entry in this year's Eurovision song contest will perform in the second semi-final in Liverpool with the order decided after the keys for the event were officially handed over to the city's mayor.
The mayor of Turin — which hosted the competition last year — handed over the symbolic Eurovision key to Liverpool Mayor Joanne Anderson on Tuesday before the order was drawn.
"A little bit of advice — enjoy the event; include everybody; engage the whole city; be proud for such an incredible international stage for you, for Ukraine and for peace," Turin Mayor Stefano Lo Russo said during the BBC broadcast.
Liverpool is hosting in May on behalf of Ukraine after the European Broadcasting Union invited the runner-up to host due to safety and security reasons over Russia's invasion.
Ukraine will automatically qualify to the grand final of the competition alongside UK, France, Spain, Germany and Italy.
The first night of the semi-finals will see performances from Serbia, Sweden, Latvia, Ireland, Moldova, Portugal, Switzerland, Norway, Israel, Netherlands, Croatia, Finland, Azerbaijan, Malta and Czec Republic.
Australia will perform on the same night as Albania, Armenia, Cyprus, Romania, Austria, Denmark, Lithuania, San Marino, Belgium Slovenia, Iceland, Georgia, Greece, Poland and Estonia.
Australia has performed at Eurovision since 2015 after being invited as part of celebrations for the contest's 60th anniversary.
Eurovision then invited Australia to enter the competition with a spot secured up until 2023.
This year Australia's act will be selected internally once again, with SBS cancelling its Eurovision — Australia Decides show.
Guy Sebastian, Dami Im, Isaiah Firebrace, Jessica Mauboy, Kate Miller-Heidke, Montaigne and Sheldon Riley have all taken the stage.
Im secured the best result to date with second for her performance of Sound of Silence in 2016.
