Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has emerged as the surprise favourite to replace Steve Cooper at Nottingham Forest.
Gerrard has been out of the dugout since his time at Aston Villa came to an end in October. The former England international’s sacking came after a poor start to the season.
However, the 42-year-old is now the bookmakers' favourite to take over from Cooper at struggling Forest. At the time of writing, he is priced as the 3/1 favourite with SkyBet.

The shift in odds comes just days after Forest appointed Ross Wilson as their new chief football officer. Wilson was the sporting director at Rangers throughout Gerrard's managerial tenure in Glasgow.
The pair worked together at Ibrox between Gerrard's arrival in June 2018 and his exit for Villa almost three-and-a-half years later. During their time together at Ibrox, Rangers won the Scottish Premiership.
Speaking earlier this month, Gerrard revealed that he has turned down opportunities at club and international level since he was dismissed by the Villa Park club.
He said: "You have to reset, wait and be patient for the fire and fight to return.
“I’ve been offered opportunities to manage at club and international level since I left Villa, including an exciting opportunity in an overseas league, but none have been right for me at this time. In the meantime, I’m enjoying being an Uber driver for my girls and my little boy."
