Virgil van Dijk has provided Liverpool supporters with an update as he continues his return from injury.
The Dutchman has been sidelined since he picked up a hamstring during his side’s 3-1 defeat at the hands of Brentford last month. At the time, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp claimed his defender was facing 'more than a month' out.
Klopp substituted Van Dijk at half-time during the game. And although the Reds boss said post-match that the centre-back's issue was 'not an injury, he just felt the intensity' - it later emerged that the injury was worse than first feared.

The defender was described as 'getting closer' late last week and taking to Instagram on Wednesday afternoon, Van Dijk posted a picture of himself, which included stats from a fitness session.
Providing a injury full update ahead of his side’s 3-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend, Kop boss Klopp revealed he was hoping to introduce the defender back into parts of training this week.
He said: "Virgil is getting closer, but not ready for the [Wolves] game obviously. Parts of training, I think, next week as well for Virgil."
