Liverpool fans want seven changes to line-up for Benfica clash in Champions League

Liverpool will be looking to reach the Champions League semi-final tonight when they take on Benfica.

The Reds hold a 3-1 advantage from the first leg at the Estadio da Luz last week, and will now look to progress in the competition with a similar performance this evening at Anfield in the second leg. Ibrahima Konate, Sadio Mane and Luis Diaz got the goals for Liverpool in the first leg last week.

Should Jurgen Klopp’s side see off Benfica this evening, they would go on to face Villarreal in the semi-final. The La Liga outfit recorded a stunning 2-1 aggregate win over Bayern Munich to knock the Bundesliga giants out of the competition.

Liverpool go into the game on the back of an enthralling draw with Manchester City in the Premier League at the weekend, and will then face the same team again in a few days time in the semi-final of the FA Cup. It’s with this match in mind that Liverpool fans have named their preferred line-up for taking on Benfica tonight.

Reds fans want Klopp to make seven changes to the team that faced Man City on Sunday. Three of these changes come in the defence, but unsurprisingly Alisson Becker keeps his place in goal.

The three changes in defence see Joe Gomez come in for Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back, Kostas Tsimikas at left-back for Andy Robertson and Konate returning in place of Joel Matip at centre-back. Virgil van Dijk still keeps his place in the team from the weekend.

Into midfield and here we see two more changes. Fabinho retains his spot, but the same can’t be said for Jordan Henderson or Thiago Alcantara. They are replaced by Naby Keita and Curtis Jones.

Then up front we see two more changes, with Mohamed Salah also the only player to stay in the team from the weekend. Luis Diaz and Roberto Firmino are included, with Diogo jota and Sadio Mane dropping out, who are both one yellow card away from a one-game suspension.

Line-up fans want: Alisson; Gomez, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Fabinho, Keita, Jones; Diaz, Firmino, Salah.
