AC Milan head coach Stefan Pioli has revealed the club are set to offer star attacker Rafael Leao a new contract amid links with a host of clubs including Liverpool.
Leao was last season one of Milan’s most important players as the Rossoneri won the Scudetto for the first time in over a decade. He reportedly has a release clause of £127m in his current contract.
But speaking after his side’s 3-2 derby win over Inter on Saturday, a game in which Leao bagged a brace, Pioli revealed discussions are taking place behind the scenes to offer the forward a new deal.

He said: “The club wants to offer Leao a new deal soon. They will take care of it, he’s working at the best level. He’s not creating any problem, he’s just working hard as a top professional.”
A report by La Repubblica back in May, claimed that Liverpool are among the outfits interested in signing the 23-year-old. Real Madrid and Chelsea have also been linked with a move for the Portugal international.
Speaking following Saturday's game at the San Siro, former Arsenal and Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud claimed he 'wasn't worried' about the prospect of Leao leaving. He said: "I was not worried about him. I knew he would remain here.”
