Liverpool face new competition for Jude Bellingham after Enzo Fernandez transfer warning

Simon Jordan believes the big-money arrival of new Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez could impact Liverpool's pursuit of Jude Bellingham.

The 19-year-old is a fierce topic of discussion as his future at Borussia Dortmund reaches a crossroads. Interest from Jurgen Klopp's side is no secret and the speculation has intensified - with Steven Gerrard's recent comments fuelling further discussions after comparisons between the two England internationals.

Chelsea topped their mammoth effort during the January transfer window by breaking the British record for a player when they splashed £105m on the Argentina midfielder, Fernandez.

Liverpool faced links with the Benfica-man, but the talkSPORT co-host has raised concerns for the Reds that the previous figures mooted for the Borussia Dortmund midfielder could now increase as a result of the deadline day move.

"They're talking about Bellingham now and Dortmund are going to be sitting there and rubbing their hands because of the situation that Liverpool find themselves in," he said. "If Liverpool can raise the cash then it's an interesting place to go because he can be part of a regeneration and part of the legacy of that football club.

"With Klopp in his pomp, I'd like to see him there.

"I hate this sort of conversation but if you're going to talk about this kid going from Benfica for £105 million then you're looking at Bellingham and you're starting to move into the territory of £125-150 million. They won't be asking for it on the drip either. They'll be saying we have a load of suitors, so you pay it and pay it now."

The six-time European champions will reportedly face sterner competition in the hunt to sign Birmingham City's youngest-ever player as Newcastle United are said to be weighing up a move.

According to German news outlet Sport Bild, via Sports Witness, have reported that the Magpies are considering a move for the Englishman.

Eddie Howe's side have been conscious with their investment since they come in to financial riches when Saudi Arabia's Private Investment Fund took majority ownership at St James' Park.
