Liverpool face a fixture backlog nightmare after their Premier League visit to Chelsea this afternoon was postponed.
The game at Stamford Bridge was called off with the Met Police unable to provide sufficient cover with their resources instead concentrating on the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II tomorrow (Monday, September 19)
A Premier League statement confirmed: "Seven of the 10 Premier League fixtures this weekend will be played, with three matches postponed due to events surrounding The Queen’s funeral. Matches postponed on Sunday 18 September are Chelsea’s matches against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, and Manchester United’s home match v Leeds United."
