Liverpool FA Cup final against Chelsea kick-off time confirmed with TV rarity

Liverpool have finally received confirmation of the kick-off time for their FA Cup final against Chelsea next month.

The Reds will take on the Londoners on Saturday, May 14 at Wembley in a repeat of February's League Cup final, which Jurgen Klopp's side won 11-10 on penalties after a goalless draw.

And the Football Association have now determined the game will start at 4.45pm. It will be broadcast live on both BBC and ITV, the first time this has happened in 34 years.

While played on a weekend scheduled for Premier League matches, no top-flight games have been arranged for the Saturday, while the two EFL play-off games due to take place on the same day will be held either side of the FA Cup final.

It is Liverpool's 15th appearance in the showpiece and their first since 2012 when they lost 2-1 to Chelsea. They last won the trophy in 2006 when they beat West Ham United on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw in Cardiff.

Liverpool are still awaiting news of the ticket allocation for the final.
