Liverpool will turn their attentions to Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips after failing to land Barcelona prospect Gavi.
That's according to Spanish outlet SPORT, who say a new contract to keep Gavi at the Nou Camp is being readied. Phillips could still stay at his boyhood club after Leeds escaped Premier League relegation on the final day of the season, but it is claimed that the Reds are in negotiations with Elland Road chiefs.
Manchester City are said to also be interested in the 26-year-old, as they seek a replacement for Fernandinho.

The 18-year-old right-back enjoyed a superb breakout season for the Dons, making 33 appearances and winning the Scottish Football Writers' Young Player of the Year award.
Serie A club Bologna, Newcastle and Leeds United are all said to be interested in capturing Ramsay, who with two years left on his current deal will cost around £4milllion, but according to sources, it is Jurgen Klopp's Reds who are at the front of the queue, as they look to secure cover for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
