The Liverpool Everyman theatre has announced the return of its rock ‘n roll Christmas panto for 2022.
It may only be March, but the city centre venue is getting pantomime fans excited with the news of its next rock ‘n roll panto. The Everyman has transformed a variety of adored fairy tales over the years, and in 2022, it’s the turn of Red Riding Hood.
The story of Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf is iconic, but the panto will retell the tale with an Everyman twist. The audience can expect “outlandish and sparkling costumes” and plenty of plot twists.

Red Riding Hood will be full of musical hits from the company’s musical actors. The panto will also feature a few surprises along the way to keep audience members on their toes.
Everyman CEO, Mark Da Vanzo, said: “Laughter and music are the perfect combination and the rock n roll panto is one of those shows that does that brilliantly. It’s one of the highlights of our year and more importantly for our audiences.
“It reaches so many people of all ages and it’s always an exciting moment to reveal a new title. We’re looking forward to seeing what music, magic and mayhem the team on and off stage will bring us this year with Red Riding Hood. Until then, we hope audiences will find something to entertain and enjoy in the months ahead.”
If you fancy a trip to the Everyman before Red Riding Hood arrives, there are a variety of performances throughout the year. This includes Sheila’s Island, The Tiger Who Came to Tea, The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, Zog & The Flying Doctors and One Man, Two Guvnors.
You can see Red Riding Hood at the Everyman from from Friday, November 25 2022 to Saturday, January 14 2023. Tickets go on sale at midday this Friday, March 18, and can be bought via the website.
