Liverpool Empire has announced that Monday night's performance of We Will Rock You has been cancelled.
Taking to its Facebook page, the Empire said: "TONIGHT'S SHOW CANCELLED: We Will Rock You (14 March 2022). Due to a mechanical issue encountered at the theatre during the set-up of the show, tonight’s performance of We Will Rock You at the Liverpool Empire is unable to go ahead.
"If you have a booking for this evening’s performance, you do not need to do anything. Customers will be automatically issued with a full credit voucher, which is valid to use on this and future shows.

"An additional performance of We Will Rock You has been scheduled for Friday 18th March at 2.30pm. Bookings can be made via https://atgtix.co/37tup6l."
Many people commented beneath the announcement to share their disappointment. Jennifer said: "You are kidding. Just waited 2 years for this, after it being rescheduled so much".
John wrote: "Gutted, we were just about to leave. We can’t do Friday afternoon." Kristina added: "Actually heart broken gets cancelled 3 times due to covid then cancelled again".
Tomorrow's (Tuesday, March 15) performance is still due to go ahead according to the Empire who replied to a comment from a worried customer on Facebook. An additional performance of We Will Rock You has been scheduled for Friday, March 18, at 2.30pm. Bookings can be made here.
