Liverpool were dealt a huge concern as Giorgi Mamardashvili was stretchered off during the Merseyside derby on Sunday.
The Georgian goalkeeper was hurt in the aftermath of Everton’s equaliser, which Beto scored.
Mamardashvili, who was already covering for the injured first-choice shot-stopper Alisson Becker, collided with Ibrahima Konate and Beto on the slide as the Everton striker stole in to score.
It left Slot forced to field his third-choice goalkeeper Freddie Woodman with the scores at 1-1, and Woodman, 29, made his Premier League debut at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
He didn’t concede while between the sticks for the visitors, and Liverpool went on to steal all three points, with Virgil van Dijk nodding in a last-gasp winner in the 10th minute of stoppage time.
Speaking post-match Slot allayed fears that Mamardashvili would be out for an extended period, with Alisson already scheduled to be sidelined for a while longer yet.
“He has gone off to hospital,” the Dutchman said.
“It looked to me, and it is also what they told me, an open wound. It will not be a long term injury, let's see if he will be available next week.”
Liverpool face Crystal Palace in the league next weekend, before a trip to Champions League rivals Manchester United the week after.
The Reds are fifth in the table, three points off United and fourth-placed Aston Villa.
