Liverpool principal owner John Henry and Reds chairman Tom Werner are among a group of high profile investors in a start-up fronted by golf superstars Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.
US tech and media start-up TMRW Sports has attracted a large number of high profile athletes, team owners and institutional investors, the aim of the firm, set up earlier this year by Woods, McIlroy and former NBC Sports president of golf, Mike McCarley, to use new techology and new media to help reimagine sport and how it is consumed for future audiences.
Fenway Sports Group's two main chiefs, Henry and Werner, are among the investors in TMRW Sports alongside famous names such as NBA stars Steph Curry and Chris Paul, Serena Williams, Andy Murray, Gareth Bale, Lewis Hamilton and even Justin Timberlake.

First cab off the rank for the TMRW Sports project is a golf league called TGL, slated for 2024, where teams of golfers will compete in a custom built venue each week. The TGL competition will be open only to PGA Tour players and not those who have switched to compete in the controversial LIV Golf series that began earlier this year.
"From the very beginning our plan has been to partner with the best-in-class in every way imaginable and Tiger, Rory and I value the support of this unrivalled team of investors, advisors, and ambassadors who believe in our vision to harness technology to create progressive approaches to sports," said McCarley, the group’s CEO in a statement via Sportico.
"Their combined broad reach and cultural relevance will expand potential opportunities and fanbases for TMRW projects."
The collective social media reach of the investor group stands at more than 500m, something that will be used to generate interest around the venture and its projects.
The investment into TMRW Sports has been done independently by Henry and Werner, not through Fenway Sports Group.
