Liverpool boss Matt Beard has hailed the return to fitness of Ireland duo Niamh Fahey and Leanne Kiernan.

They both returned to the matchday squad for last weekend’s 2-1 win over Manchester City, a result that guaranteed the Reds’ Women’s Super League survival.
And while neither made it off the bench, Beard hinted at a role for the pair in Liverpool’s remaining games against Aston Villa and Manchester United.
“I’ll have Niamh Fahey back fully fit, Leanne as well, and all of a sudden I’ve got options and a real good attacking threat,” said Beard.
“That has been our Achilles heel most of the season – not having that attacking threat.”
