Liverpool manager Arne Slot voiced his frustration over match-winner Hugo Ekitike's "stupid" red card after the Reds secured a 2-1 Carabao Cup victory over Southampton.

The 23-year-old, who replaced £125m British record signing Alexander Isak at half-time after he had opened the scoring, quickly earned a booking for punching the ball away in frustration.
