A look into the relatioship between Meghan and Kate

Here's a deeper dive into the relationship between Kate and Meghan from Rebecca Armitage, Lucy Sweeney and Lucia Stein:
Harry confirmed a rumour that has swirled for years in the British tabloids that Meghan and Kate had a disagreement in the lead-up to their 2018 wedding over Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid's dress.
However, he said, it was reported in the media that an aggressive Meghan made her future sister-in-law cry over her unreasonable demands.
"Why wasn't it corrected?" Harry said.
"They were more than happy to put out statements for less volatile things. The palace still could have come out and said 'this never happened."
He also said that, in a confrontation between the couples, Kate was so uneasy that she gripped the edge of a chair so tightly that her knuckles were white.
When Meghan described a moment of forgetfulness by Kate as "baby brain", an argument erupted.
Meghan wasn't the reason for relationship breakdown with William, Harry says

Prince Harry says he wants to squash the idea that Meghan was the one that destroyed the relationship between him and his brother William.
Harry told CBS that there's been a lot of pain between the pair, especially over the past six years.
"I love him deeply. None of anything I've written, anything that I've included is ever intended to hurt my family," he says.
"But it does give a full picture of the situation as we were growing up, and also squashes this idea that somehow my wife was the one that destroyed the relationship between these two brothers."

Harry was 'not invited' on plane to visit sick Queen

When Harry was told that the Queen was under medical supervision, he says he contacted William to arrange plans to be by her side as soon as possible.
He says he was in London at the time.
"I asked my brother, I said 'what are your plans, how are you and Kate getting up there?'"
"And then a couple of hours later all of the family members that live in the Windsor and Ascot area were jumping on a plane together, a plane with 12, 14 maybe 16 seats."
"I was not invited".
He said by the time he got to Balmoral the Queen had died.

"I had huge amounts of hope," he says.
He says he requested to see photos of the crash scene to that he could understand that it was true that she had died.
It wasn't until he was 23 that Harry accepted that she had died.

Harry says videos of the day before his mother's funeral are "bizarre", mostly because he was smiling.
He talks about how people's hands were wet from wiping tears away.
He says he remembers walking behind Princess Diana's coffin, remembering how silent the walk was.

Harry says he no longer recognises some family members

Harry says he had fled Britain with his family for California in 2020 "fearing for our lives" and said he no longer recognised his father or brother.
"After many, many years of lies being told about me and my family, there comes a point where going back to the relationship between certain members of the family and the tabloid press, those certain members have decided to get in the bed with the devil … to rehabilitate their image," he said.
"The moment that that rehabilitation comes at the detriment of others, me, other members of my family, then that's where I draw the line."

Prince Harry on Susan Hussey

Prince Harry also addressed a recent race row involving William's godmother Susan Hussey.
Last month, Ms Hussey repeatedly asked a black British charity worker where she was from.
"Meghan and I love Susan Hussey. She (Meghan) thinks she's great."
"And I also know that what she meant – she never meant any harm at all. But the response from the British press, and from people online because of the stories that they wrote was horrendous."

Reconciliation is still at front of mind for Harry

We heard earlier that Prince Harry believes there is a "100 per cent" chance of reconciling with his family, but he also made some comments about where he thinks his family might stand.
"It almost feels as though this status quo, internally, they feel as though it's better to keep us somehow as the villains," he says.
"I genuinely believe, and I hope, that reconciliation between my family and us will have a ripple effect across the entire world.
"Maybe that's lofty, maybe that's naive, whatever. But I genuinely feel that.
