New Taco Bell restaurant opens in Nottingham's Victoria Centre

Mexican restaurant Taco Bell has opened in the Victoria Centre - the chain's second venture in the city.

Free churros were offered to the first 100 customers in the shopping centre restaurant on Saturday (March 5).

The launch marked the brand’s 91st UK restaurant opening, becoming the chain's second restaurant in the city - joining its restaurant in on Angel Row.

Customers are able to visit the new restaurant and dine in or take-away.

Lucy Dee, head of marketing at Taco Bell UK. “The people of Nottingham have been crying out for Taco Bell and we’re very pleased to be able to deliver: creating local jobs despite challenging circumstances."

It's open from 11am until late, seven days a week.

Paul Martin, Taco Bell regional manager, said: "We’re very excited about our second store in Nottingham, it’s the first city we have brought a second Taco Bell to.

"It’s great to have a store in this side of town and we have worked really hard to get it all ready. This one has created 40 jobs in the city."

The unit in the shopping centre was previously occupied by Clean Cut Kitchen, before the business relocated to the Clock Tower dining area of the mall.

The first customers to the new restaurant spoke of their love for the food.

Elise Jennings, 19, who works in Relic Vintage at the Victoria Centre, was the first customer.

“I work upstairs so this is perfect, the other one was a bit out of the way," she said.

"I absolutely love the food. I’ll be taking a lot of my lunch breaks here and I think it will be popular."

Mick Lukasik, 20, who studies biomedical engineering at Nottingham Trent University, said: “I have been to the one on Angel Row and I go into them when I see them in other cities.

"I prefer it to McDonald's and this is a good spot there will be loads of shoppers coming in.

"I think it is going to be very popular."

Nigel Wheatley, centre director at Victoria Centre, added: “We’re excited to welcome Taco Bell to the centre.

"This is a great new addition to our variety of Clocktower dining eateries, providing even more choice for our shoppers to dine out when they visit us.”
