Updates, highlights

Packers inactives: Matt LaFleur’s team will be without cornerback Jaire Alexander and rookie defensive back Javon Bullard, and receiver Malik Heath and offensive lineman Jacob Monk are healthy scratches. Kenneth Walker III, Seattle’s dynamic running back, is out with a calf injury.

Jacobs powers opening drive TD: The Packers gave the ball to No. 8 on eight straight plays to open the game, and Jacobs finished off the 10-play drive with a 1-yard rushing touchdown. Jacobs gained 44 total yards, Jordan Love completed both passes and the Packers got 15 free yards on an unnecessary roughness penalty. Terrific start. 7-0.

Third down sack: Welcome back, Edgerrin Cooper. The rookie linebacker blitzed on third down and took down Geno Smith to end Seattle’s first drive. Cooper also had a tackle on the kickoff. He had missed the last three games with a hamstring injury.

Packers go up 14-0: It’s ALL Packers early. Green Bay drove 80 yards in eight plays and scored on Romeo Doubs’ 13-yard touchdown catch. Josh Jacobs had a 19-yard run. Jayden Reed had three touches. The Packers are rolling.

Another third down sack forces field goal: The Seahawks approached the red zone, but Kingsley Enagbare delivered a tackle for loss on second down and Rashan Gary finished off the drive with a sack on third down, forcing a 48-yard field goal from Jason Myers. It’s 14-3.

Packers respond with field goal: The Packers got a third-down conversion from Dontayvion Wicks and a 36-yard catch from Christian Watson to set up a field goal from Brandon McManus.

Red zone pick: On 3rd-and-9 from inside the red zone, Eric Wilson won as a blitzer and pressured Geno Smith into a poor throw, and Carrington Valentine picked it off in the end zone to end a scoring threat. It’s still 17-3. Huge play for the Packers defense.

Another score: The Packers scored on all four of their first half drives. After Valentine’s pick, Green Bay drove 83 yards to set up a short field goal from McManus. Tucker Kraft caught a 26-yard pass on a free play, and Romeo Doubs drew a 34-yard pass interference penalty. Instead of risking the points with four seconds left, Matt LaFleur decided to kick the field goal from the 4-yard line. 20-3.

Seahawks get 3, Geno hurt: A poor punt from Daniel Whelan set up the Seahawks around midfield, and Seattle got three points out of the opportunity. The big news? Geno Smith appeared to injure his ankle and departed the game. Backup Sam Howell finished the drive.

Watson leads FG drive: Christian Watson drew a 40-yard pass interference penalty, made a third down contested catch to extend the drive and nearly picked up another third down inside the red zone. The Packers settled for a 23-yard field goal from Brandon McManus to extend the lead back out to 17 points at 23-6.

Third quarter ends with Enagbare drive: Kingsley Enagbare had a three-play sequence every edge rusher dreams of against Sam Howell. Enagbare sacked Howell on first and third down and added a tackle of Howell on a scramble on second down. The Seahawks will be punting down three scores to start the fourth quarter.

Jacobs fumble sets up Seahawks touchdown: Jordan Love missed a wide open Romeo Doubs on first down, and Josh Jacobs fumbled away the ball on second down — giving the ball to the Seahawks, who promptly drove for a score. Zach Charbonnet scored from 24 yards on a well-blocked run. It’s 23-13. The Packers have dominated but now need a drive here to seal the deal.

Edge Cooper INT: Dagger? Edgerrin Cooper intercepted Sam Howell after Josh Jacobs was stuffed on fourth down. The Packers now have the ball in Seahawks territory up 10 points.

Love to Doubs dagger: On third down, Jordan Love hit Romeo Doubs for a 22-yard touchdown to push the Packers’ lead to 30-13 in the fourth quarter. Game over.
