Sports Illustrated provides live updates and news from the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup Draw from Miami, Florida. The event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET. Check back regularly.

Group Draw Concludes

2:34 p.m. ET: The draw is finished. Group B easily stands out as the group of death with PSG, Atleti, Botafogo and Seattle. Miami should have a decent chance of advancing, same goes for most of the UEFA teams.

Inter Miami to Open Tournament Against Al Ahly

2:21 p.m. ET: With Group A confirmed, Lionel Messi and Inter Miami will open the tournament at Hard Rock Stadium in Florida against Al Ahly.

1:36 p.m. ET: Ivanka Trump and her son Theo come up on stage to draw the first team: SE Palmeiras.

Nearly Time for the Draw

1:27 p.m. ET: Alessandro Del Piero takes the stage as we're nearly to the draw. A primer video is running explaining the format. If you want to know how the draw and the pots were determined, check out our stories above.

Teams from the same confederation cannot be drawn into the same group, outside of UEFA teams. Teams from the same country, though, cannot be in the same group. Inter Miami and Seattle Sounders, MLS' two representatives, will be automatically placed into Group A and B respectively due to scheduling purposes.

Just have to do the introductions for the teams and the pots and we should be underway...

A New FIFA Club World Cup Trophy

1:23 p.m. ET: There's a brand new FIFA Club World Cup Trophy. Infantino is joined by Ronaldo to unveil the shield-style trophy. Styled in gold with multiple inscriptions across the shield, the Brazilian jokes with Infantino why this trophy wasn't introduced when he played.

Objectively, it's a gorgeous trophy. Designed by Tiffany's and Co., fans will get a chance to see the trophy in person when a presentation tour takes place after the turn of the year.

Draw Show Begins

1:09 p.m. ET: The show is underway. Host Samantha Johnson and FIFA president Gianni Infantino are on stage introducing the competition. Infantino sells the excitement of the tournament with 32 teams competing in North America next summer. "The first truly, global club tournament," as the trailer promotes.
