Inter Milan vs. Arsenal: Goals, Timeline, Commentary, Highlights

5:00 p.m. ET: Full-time

The final whistle goes at the San Siro. Inter is victorious moving to 10 points. For Arsenal, it's the team's first loss in the league phase as frustrations mount with the team's performances over the past few weeks.

4:54 p.m. ET: The captain is back

After it looked like he wouldn't make an appearance, Martin Odegaard is back for Arsenal coming on for Kai Havertz after a clashing of heads in the Inter penalty area.

4:45 p.m. ET: Arsenal makes two changes

Ethan Nwaneri and Oleksandr Zinchenko are on. With the former coming on, looks like no Odegaard tonight despite being in the squad and having fully trained leading up to the game.

4:43 p.m. ET: Arsenal attacking, but Inter looks comfortable

Resigning Arsenal to Bukayo Saka crosses, the Inter defense is standing tall with 10 minutes to go. Inzaghi's men are on top of their game tonight.

4:25 p.m. ET: Arteta Shown Yellow Card

The entire Arsenal team, now manager included, needs to keep its cool. Arteta has been cautioned by the referee.

4:20 p.m. ET: Nearly an equalizer for the visitors

A corner kick nearly finds the back of the net after a flick on but no dice for Arsenal. A Havertz effort a couple moments later is saved by Sommer. Just over 30 minutes left.

4:10 p.m. ET: Massive chance missed for Arsenal

William Saliba misses a free header from a corner. A team lethal on set pieces to start the season hasn't converted yet in a game it desperately needs to.

4:07 p.m. ET: Time for the second half

Second 45 begins at the San Siro. Gabriel Jesus has replaced Mikel Merino.

3:51 p.m. ET: Half-time at the San Siro

A demoralizing way to go into the tunnel for Arsenal. For Inter, the complete opposite. The Gunners haven't been clinical at all with the ball in the final third now finding themselves trailing with 45 minutes to go. Question begs if Odegaard will make an appearance for the second half, or what changes in general Arteta will make.

3:48 p.m. ET: PENALTY, GOAL! Nerazzuri Goes in Front

Handball! Mikel Merino is penalized in the box. It's a tough one to swallow, but a VAR check confirms the penalty leading to Hakan Calhanoglu firing home the opener. It's the first goal Arsenal has conceded in the UCL.

3:39 p.m. ET: Arsenal growing into the game

38 minutes gone and the Gunners are gaining a bit more possession. A couple corner kicks, but still too passive in the team's attacking approach. Lacking that killer ball to penetrate Inter's staunch defense.

3:26 p.m. ET: Both teams lacking quality in the final third

Moments back and forth as the first half transpires, but both sides are lacking any quality in the final third. Tactical battle so far, but room to grow and improve for both sides.

3:16 p.m. ET: It's gotten silly early...

Gabriel and Lautaro Martinez are both shown yellow cards for antics before a corner kick. For a team that's received too many red cards in the Premier League, that's silly.

3:11 p.m. ET: 10 minutes gone, Arsenal looks devoid of ideas

It's been all Inter Milan to start the game dominating possession with 68% and three shots. The 4-4-2 system continues to be a point of contention for Arteta missing not only Rice, but not yet having Odegaard ready to start.

3:04 p.m. ET: Inter on top early

Arsenal's already faced a couple shots, one rattling the crossbar. Warning signs early.

3:00 p.m. ET: Time for kick-off

Arsenal has a chance to climb into the top eight with a win here tonight as both sides are tied on seven points. The visitors have question marks surrounding its domestic form and are without Declan Rice.

2:20 p.m. ET: Arsenal and Inter Milan confirmed lineups

  • Arsenal: Raya; Timber, Gabriel, Saliba, White; Martinelli, Merino, Partey, Saka; Trossard, Havertz
  • Inter: Sommer; Bisseck, De Vrij, Pavard; Darmian, Zielinski, Calhanoglu, Frattesi, Dumfries; Martinez, Taremi

Bayern Munich UCL Goals and Updates

4:54 p.m. ET: GOAL! Bayern Munich 1-0

After searching 67 minutes for the opener, Jamal Musiala fires Bayern in front at home.

3:00 p.m. ET: Kick-off delayed

2:22 p.m. ET: Bayern Munich confirmed lineup

A fifth for the Catalans with the goal coming from Fermin Lopez off the bench. Jules Kounde is up to a hat-trick of assists as it's another dominant night for Hansi Flick's side.

4:16 p.m. ET: GOALS! A second for Lewandowski, Raphinha's first of the night

They're just too good. Robert Lewandowski fires in a third for his brace and Raphinha extends the lead to three just two minutes later. Barcelona is cruising after a surprising equalizer back in the 27th minute.

3:47 p.m. ET: GOAL! Barcelona back in front thanks to Lewandowski

Who else but that man Lewandowski? The Polish striker fires his side back in front.
