With a total of 27 current full-time players from the LIV Golf League teeing it up at the Hong Kong Open this year, there was always a high chance one of them would walk away victorious - and that's exactly what happened as Tom McKibbin dominated from start to finish.
The Legion XIII player carded a closing 63 to reach 27-under for the week and triumph by seven strokes, leaving Peter Uihlein of RangeGoats GC in a distant second place on 20-under.
As a result of his third professional win, McKibbin has earned starts at The Masters and The Open Championship in 2026 as well as the handsome winner's check. It will be the 22-year-old's third Open start but his maiden drive down Magnolia Lane as part of the field.
While the Northern Irishman was the only one who could walk away smiling, there was plenty to cheer about for those involved with the LIV Golf League as a number of the circuit's members performed well at Hong Kong Golf Club.
A quadruple-bogey eight did Uihlein no favors in his pursuit of McKibbin, but the American still finished in solo second, one stroke ahead of Louis Oosthuizen who was in a share of third with two other players following a final-round 67 (-3).

The aforementioned LIV trio were among the six players from the PIF-backed circuit to rack up a top-10, with Matt Jones (T6th on -18), Thomas Pieters and Charles Howell III (both T9th on -17) completing the high-flying group.
The Spanish pair of Josele Ballester and David Puig finished T14th alongside the likes of Charl Schwartzel on 15-under, one stroke ahead of Anirban Lahiri who ended the week in a share of 21st.
Defending champion, Patrick Reed - who shot the second 59 in Asian Tour history on his way to winning the title a year ago - finished T31st this time around with Richard Bland among those for company on 12-under.
With birdies arriving so freely for much of the field, level-par totals were causing players to slip down the leaderboard. And that's exactly what happened to Harold Varner III on Sunday after a score of 70 saw him drop from T24th to T36th.
Nevertheless, Varner still finished ahead of players such as Yubin Jang (T41st), Kevin Na (T47th), Talor Gooch (T47th), Paul Casey (T59th) and Anthony Kim (T63rd) who all struggled to go low enough to contend over the four days.
