Point taken about the podcast bros, Zoe (A list of the UK’s top podcasts poses the question: what is it with all the bros?, 27 September). But my feed includes the indomitable therapist Esther Perel. Also, the highly relatable Anna Sale, who presents Death, Sex & Money. For laughs and righteous liberal passions, look no further than Deborah Frances-White AKA The Guilty Feminist. I am hugely loyal to the Remainiacs team, who have subtly morphed into Oh God, What Now? and The Bunker. Shout out to Naomi Smith and Ros Taylor, and “newbies” Marie Le Conte and Hannah Fearn.

• I find podcasts with male voices excellent for curing my insomnia, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. Maybe this is why the bros dominate the podcast charts.

• So have I got this right: BBC presenters of non-political shows will have their ability to share political views “severely restricted” (Report, 28 September), but a broadcaster having a Tory MP interview a Tory home secretary is perfectly impartial (No rule to stop Tory MP interviewing minister on GB News, says Ofcom boss, 28 September)?

• Your correspondent (Letters, 27 September) laments the delay in release of foreign films in the UK. I recall the halcyon days of the 1970s and 80s, when one could turn on BBC2 and see films by the likes of Truffaut, Chabrol and Kurosawa. Nowadays, every Christmas, I look at the hundreds of films listed in Radio Times seeking just one in a language other than English. I am usually disappointed.
