A Northern Irish singer songwriter has spoken of his joy after one of his songs featured on the Love Island semi final.
Jordan Rawling from Lisburn was watching the episode from Sweden when is song Scars was played as contestants Jessie and Will were sent home at the end of the episode.
Speaking to Belfast Live, Jordan said that there had been talks with his management regarding potentially using his song but he didn't know that it was going ahead until the episode had aired.

"This has been the most insane moment of my career so far. My jaw just dropped and I couldn't believe it," he said.
"The response has been insane and over 2,000 people Shazamed it during the broadcast. I also got a video message from Dean Lewis to congratulate me, people have been reaching out to say they heard the song and the Spotify streams have gone through the roof which has just been incredible."
Jordan said that the song featured on the show touches on his own battle with his mental health but in a positive light.
"I take an optimistic approach as I have struggled in the past and at times it has been difficult.
"I wrote Scars because our scars make us who we are. Everything we have experienced, all of the trauma leads to growth and my biggest moments of growth have been when I have been going through pain.
"These are times when you think things aren't going to get better but looking back, they have shaped me into the person that I am today.
"The song is really a note to myself to embrace who I am and to be at peace with everything that has happened."
Jordan saw music as a hobby until Lockdown hit and he realised that he wanted to explore it as a career. While busking in Belfast, Jordan was filmed singing 'Before You Go' and eventually Lewis Capaldi came across the video and duetted it on TikTok.
Writing his first song, Jordan created an Instagram page and everything unfolded from there - including his love life.
"My first song was called 'Can we fall in love?' and came from a crazy story
"Last year Dean Lewis shared one of my covers on his Instagram story and a girl commented on the post. I slid into her DMs and we started chatting. Now we are living together between Sweden and Ireland.
"We were lucky enough that Dean Lewis invited us backstage at his gig in Dublin which was really our relationship coming full circle as had he not shared my video, we might never have met."
Jordan Rawling's song Scars is available to stream and download now.
