Manchester United have welcomed back Lisandro Martinez to Carrington as the defender nears his return from injury.
The Argentine’s season was ended in mid-April when he broke a metatarsal bone in his foot in the Europa League clash with Sevilla, an injury which required surgery.
Recent reports suggest the 25-year-old will be fit for United’s pre-season schedule and Martinez posted an excited update on Thursday morning as he returned to the training ground.
“So happy to be here!” he wrote on Twitter.
United’s players not involved in the recent international period are not due back at Carrington until early July, indicating that Martinez’s arrival was related to his return from injury.

He is set to be part of a limited squad flying out to Norway for a friendly with Leeds in Oslo in July 12, which could include fellow injury returnees Antony, Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek.
The rest of the Red Devils squad is due to begin pre-season two days earlier with a view to playing Lyon on July 19, a friendly which takes place in Edinburgh.
United then jet off to the United States for a summer tour, consisting of fixtures against Arsenal, Wrexham, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund before a final pre-season clash with Athletic Club in Dublin on August 5 - just over a week before their Premier League kick-off Wolves.
