Lisa Snowdon says Celebrity MasterChef win has been ‘life-changing’ for her

Lisa Snowdon revealed winning Celebrity MasterChef recently has been 'life-changing' for her.

The 50-year-old star has been impressing judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace during the six-week run.

She came out victorious after beating fellow finalists All Saints' Melanie Blatt and McFly's Danny Jones.

Speaking about her experience, the TV presenter explained: “I think I’ve proved to myself that if you want something you can go out there and get it and if you try hard enough, things can go your way.

"I’m the sort of person that doesn’t always have that much confidence in myself – I’m often so hard on myself.

"So to be able to go into that show and keep gaining more self-belief is life-changing for me."

Lisa was crowned the winner of this year's series (PA)

Her winning menu included an appetizer of poached rhubarb and pan-fried mackerel with a fennel slaw and thyme oil.

Lisa's main course was a pan-fried duck breast on a sunflower seed puree along with pickled and sauteed mushrooms and cavolo nero.

Dessert was indulgent as she served up a chocolate tart with a creme fraiche-filled cigar with sour cherries.

The model revealed everything turned into 'slow motion' when she heard she won the competition.

She added to Hello!: “It was massively overwhelming because I felt like I was at the bottom of a really steep hill when I first started.

“I was super-proud that I’d made it all the way to the final, and then to be crowned champion was absolutely incredible.

The star added she'll never forget the experience for the rest of her life.

The final had the remaining contestant travel to Alexandra Palace in London to cater for an event.

They then returned to the MasterChef kitchen where they had to create a dish inspired by their childhood, before finally facing the chef’s table hosted by Italian Michelin-starred chef Giorgio Locatelli.

Lisa chose a duck dish after struggling with it earlier in the competition.

John said: “Lisa, throughout this competition, has taken the everyday and elevated it into something special. This final she dared to do something that was going to be a gamble, and the gamble paid off. Her food is fantastic.”

Gregg also praised her for taking risks, saying: “Faint heart never lifts a MasterChef title and that is why Lisa is our Celebrity MasterChef champion.”
