Emmerdale legend Lisa Riley is desperate for an acting icon to join the soap.
Lisa, 45, known to millions of Emmerdale viewers as Mandy Dingle wants star of stage and screen Miriam Margolyes to join the soap as part of the infamous Dingle clan.
Miriam, 80, has appeared in some major films such as Romeo + Juliet, Babe and the Harry Potter series where she played Professor Pomona Sprout.

Appearing on ITV panel show Loose Women Lisa put out a public plea to Emmerdale bosses to cast Miriam as Vera Dingle.
“Any interview she does I watch back about four or five times on YouTube,” Lisa admitted.

“I just love how terrifically bonkers she is, and with that in mind, we’ve seen Mandy’s father who’s a Dingle, but Vera Dingle who is Mandy’s mum has never ever been seen.”
Lisa further went on to emphasise her desperation for Miriam to join the cast of Emmerdale.
Lisa said: “My ultimate pray, pray, pray would be that Miriam Margolyes was to play Vera Dingle, Mandy’s mum.’
“Even if it was just for four episodes. Visually both in leopard print, me and Miriam Margolyes, it would be comedy gold.”
