Ant McPartlin’s ex-wife is splashing out on a swimming pool as she uses some of her £31million divorce settlement to upgrade her mansion.
Lisa Armstrong, 45, wants to install a pool, gym, outhouse and gazebo in the grounds of her swanky home.
Lisa, who recently showed off her stunning new look to fans, is making the changes as she settles down with 37-year-old electrician James Green.
She has submitted papers to the council in a planning application for the overhaul as part of her first big spend since her split from Britain’s Got Talent star Ant, 46.
A source said: “Lisa has well and truly moved on and is excitedly planning for the future. She looks amazing and is excited about the direction her life is heading in.
“It has been a really upsetting and obviously distressing few years – but Lisa has bounced back and is firmly looking forward.”
Lisa recently gave her online followers a rare glimpse inside her £3.8m home which she moved into in 2020.
Pictures she posted show a plush living room featuring a velvet green sofa, stunning art and an open-plan kitchen.
Lisa’s marriage to Ant ended in 2018, and in the settlement she got their £5m former marital home in Chiswick, West London – since sold – as well as a slice of his fortune worth up to £31m.
She moved into her new West London home in 2020 and in the same year her divorce was reportedly finalised and she went public with her new relationship with James. Ant has since tied the knot with his former PA Anne-Marie Corbett.
Speaking of his new relationship, Ant said: “Anne-Marie honestly is the fundamental reason for the great change in my life. She’s been my rock. She’s a beautiful soul. We’re very happy.”
Ant and Lisa met at a Smash Hits concert in Newcastle, in the mid-90s, when Lisa was in girl group Deuce and Ant was performing with Declan Donnelly as PJ & Duncan.
They stayed together for 23 years, 11 of them as husband and wife. They wed in 2006, with Dec serving as best man.
Lisa helped Ant after he battled a prescription drug addiction and a stint in rehab in 2017. Ant said at the time: “The first step is to admit to yourself you need help. I’ve let people down. I’m truly sorry. I feel like I have let a lot of people down and for that I’m truly sorry. I want to thank my wife, family and closest friends through this really difficult time.”
