One of the top quarterback prospects in the 2022 NFL draft will be making a stop in Detroit next week. Pittsburgh QB Kenny Pickett, often projected as a top-10 overall pick, will make an official pre-draft visit with the Lions.
Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network was first to report the scheduled visit.
The Lions already know Pickett from Senior Bowl week, where the Panthers standout played on the opposing squad coached by the New York Jets. Pickett is widely touted as the most NFL-ready of the crop of quarterbacks in this draft, and his downfield passing and savvy athleticism are both traits the Lions should find appealing.
It would be a stunning surprise if the Lions actually drafted Pickett at No. 2 overall. However, teams use their 30 pre-draft visits for various purposes. Pickett will be the first QB to visit with Detroit.
