While the Houston Texans still do not know if vertical threat Nico Collins will be cleared in time for Sunday’s matchup, the Detroit Lions won’t have to worry about missing their top burner.
Third-year receiver Jameson Williams’ two-game suspension is over and Detriot plans on getting him back to full speed on Sunday night at NRG Stadium.
“He’s going,” Lions coach Dan Campbell said Monday when asked about Williams’ status for the Week 10 showdown. “Let’s go, so we’re going to kick him out there with the offense and get him going, man. I expect him to be ready to roll.”
Williams, a former first-round pick and potential draft target for the Texans in 2022, was suspended Oct. 21 for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances. He didn’t appeal the case and missed the last two games against Tennessee and Green Bay.

“He’s been here,” Campbell said. “He couldn’t be out there in practice, but he was here training, we had him running, he’s in the meetings, all of that. So he’s really been here and honestly, we’re throwing him back in there.”
At the time of his suspension, Williams led the Lions with 361 yards receiving and is averaging 21.2 yards per catch, second most in the NFL.
While Williams is expected to go, the NFL could open another investigation before he’s officially removed from the commissioners/exempt list. Last month, Williams was reportedly taken into custody briefly for allegedly carrying a gun without a concealed pistol license.
Collins, who is eligible to come off the injured reserve this week after missing the past four games with a hamstring injury, is expected to be “day-to-day” entering Week 10.

Before being placed on the injured reserve, Collins’ 567 receiving yards led the NFL and still ranks in the top 15 overall.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. The game will be nationally televised on NBC.
