There are quite a few potent offenses in the NFL in 2022. The Dolphins, the Chiefs, the Seahawks, the Eagles, the Buffalo Bills — Lions fans have seen nearly all of those mighty offenses up close and personal this season.
Yet for all the impressive offenses, all the high-powered potential and All-Pro weapons, none of those teams lead the league in games scoring at least 30 points through Week 13. That team would be none other than Dan Campbell’s Lions.
With their 40-point outburst in the dominating win over the Jaguars on Sunday, the Lions seized the league lead with their sixth game scoring at least 30 points. Coordinator Ben Johnson’s offense has hit the 30-point mark in half of the team’s 12 games.
Other teams (Seattle, Buffalo, Kansas City, Miami) could match them in Week 13, but the Lions got there first. That’s quite an impressive feat for Johnson as a rookie coordinator and a diversely talented cast of weapons around QB Jared Goff.
