It’s officially preseason time in the NFL, which means you get an excellent Hendon Hooker highlight from Thursday night as he quarterbacks for the Detroit Lions.
If the Lions’ season goes as hoped, Hooker will support starter Jared Goff as his backup for the majority of the season. However, a clip like this may give Detroit fans hope that the reserve quarterback has some talent to spare.
On an impressive scramble for a first down, Hooker absolutely trucks a New York Giants defender into next Tuesday to pick up yardage when it looks like he’s about to be tackled.
While we know it’s not always wise to get excited over preseason highlights, this is beyond cool for Hooker. Maybe Detroit has a heck of a quarterback waiting in the wings should disaster strike?
