Lions GM Brad Holmes and his scouting staff are casting a wide net in advance of the 2023 NFL draft. The team recently held a virtual meeting with Michigan State safety Kendell Brooks, per Aaron Wilson of KPRC-2.
Brooks is generally projected as a seventh-round pick or undrafted free agent after playing one season for the Spartans. He transferred to Michigan State from D-II North Greenville in South Carolina and quickly established himself as one of the Spartans’ top defensive players.
This is not one of the Lions’ 30 allotted pre-draft visits. Brooks met virtually with the team, and that doesn’t count against the “top-30” limit.
Michigan State @MSU_Football safety Kendell Brooks (6-0, 206, 4.45, 10-5 broad jump, 35 1/2 inch vertical, 100 tackles, three forced fumbles last season) has Zoom meetings with #Lions #Jaguars, per league source, interest from #Titans. Transfer from Division II North Greenville
