The Lions entered their Week 7 game against the Ravens as winners in five of their last six games for the first time since 2011 and riding a four-game winning streak.
However, when Detroit (5–2) took the field on Sunday afternoon at M&T Bank Stadium, the Lions were out of sync and had no answer for Lamar Jackson and a Ravens offensive unit that generated 503 yards of offense in Baltimore's 38–6 route against Detroit.
Jackson, 26, registered his seventh career game with four touchdowns (three through the air, one on the ground) while completing 75% of his passes, the most by any player before reaching 30 years old in league history.
After the blowout loss, Lions head coach Dan Campbell was very candid with reporters about his team’s performance in the postgame news conference.
“Those guys [Ravens] played well and kicked our ass," Campbell said, per ESPN’s Eric Woodyard. “Lamar [Jackson] beat us. He hammered us with his arm. …They jumped all over us. Lamar gave us problems, we could never apply enough pressure…The combination of not getting enough pressure [on Lamar] and having to cover a long time, we did not handle it very well.”

Detroit lost its first game on the road this season in Baltimore. The Lions, who managed to score their only touchdown early in the fourth quarter, were shut out in the first half for the first time since Week 5 of the 2022 campaign. Prior to Sunday’s loss, Detroit averaged 16.5 points in the first half this season, tied for fourth among NFL teams this season.
The Lions will seek to bounce back in Week 8 on Oct. 30 when they face the Raiders on Monday Night Football.
