Lions 34, Packers 31: Highlights from Green Bay’s Week 14 loss

Three rushing touchdowns from Josh Jacobs, a passer rating over 100.0 from Jordan Love, over 100 receiving yards from Christian Watson and both an interception and fourth down stop from the defense wasn’t enough for the Green Bay Packers to overcome the short-handed Detroit Lions in a 34-31 loss in primetime at Ford Field.

Despite taking a pair of leads in the second half and then getting the game tied at 31, the Packers were unable to get stops late — and Jared Goff marched the Lions down the field for a game-winning field goal as time expired.

The Packers started slow and trailed 7-0 in the first quarter and 17-7 after the first half. But Matt LaFleur’s team came alive in the second half, using a quick touchdown strike and a takeaway to grab the lead in the first four minutes of the third quarter. The Lions just wouldn’t be denied, scoring on three of their last four possessions to escape with a win.

The Packers are now 9-4. The Lions have won 11 straight games and are in prime position to be the No. 1 seed at 12-1 with four games to go.
