Former England striker Ellen White has announced she is pregnant - just four months after retiring from football.
White cemented herself as the Lionesses all-time top scorer before hanging up her boots in August. The 33-year-old netted 52 goals and recorded 113 caps for England across her 17-year career and helped Sarina Wiegman's side to Euros glory in the summer.
White also enjoyed a glittering club career, winning back-to-back Women's Super League titles with Arsenal before spells with Notts County, Birmingham City and Manchester City. And now the striker has revealed she is expecting a baby, due in April 2023.
White took to Instagram to share a photo of herself and husband Callum Convery with the caption: "Mum and Dad. April 2023".
The couple met while studying Sports Science at Loughborough University and got engaged six years later in 2013. The pair tied the knot 18 months after their engagement in a winter wedding that was held in a barn outside Aylesbury.
Convery also has an interest in the world of football and worked as a sports development officer for the Nottinghamshire Football Association before changing jobs when White made the switch to Manchester City in July 2019.
A host of former teammates and fellow footballers took to the comments section to congratulate White on the news. Aston Villa striker Rachel Daly commented a series of love-heart emojis while former Arsenal star and pundit Fara Williams wrote: "Congratulations to you both".
