Lionel Messi is set to return to Inter Miami's lineup on Saturday after being out for over two months with an ankle injury, according to Miami coach Gerardo Martino.
"Yes, he is fine," AFP quoted Martino as saying on Friday ahead of training. "He trained (Thursday), he is in the plans for the game. After training we will figure out the strategy for him, but he is available," he added.
Inter Miami leads the Eastern Conference and tops the overall MLS standings. They will play against the Philadelphia Union on Saturday.
Messi injured his right ankle during the Copa America final on July 14, when Argentina won against Colombia. Due to this injury, he missed eight MLS games and this month's World Cup qualifiers for Argentina.
"To get back the best player in the world to our team, which was already on a good run, we are all very happy with this situation," said Martino.
