Lionel Messi aims dig at Real Madrid for Champions League final win over Liverpool

Lionel Messi has seemingly taken a dig at Real Madrid following their victory over Liverpool in last season’s Champions League final.

Vinicius Junior scored the only goal at Paris’ Stade de France as Los Blancos overcame Jurgen Klopp ’s side to be crowned champions of Europe for the second time in five seasons. However, Carlo Ancelotti’ s side’s run to the final itself was rather fortuitous as they saw off Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Man City in the knockout stages despite repeatedly being on the brink of a premature exit.

Messi hasn’t won the Champions League since Barcelona’s last final triumph back in 2015, while the closest PSG have come to being crowned European champions is their 2020 final loss to Bayern Munich. Yet the legendary Argentine is determined to end both droughts this season.
