A Linwood man who crashed his car in a supermarket carpark was 3.5times the legal drink drive limit.
Lukasz Pacala of Asbury Court crashed his Fiat Punto in Tesco carpark the day after he had a house party with friends.
Pacala admitted he was under the influence of alcohol when he drove on February 13 at the Bridge Street supermarket which is within walking distance from his house.
The 30-year-old gave a reading of 77mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 22mg.
Procurator fiscal depute Ms McLeod told Paisley Sheriff Court: “Around 3.45pm on February 13, the witness was parking their vehicle at Tesco in Linwood when a Fiat Punto collided with them causing minor damage.
“The witness spoke with the accused and could smell alcohol and he admitted he had consumed wine.
“The accused provided his details to the witness and police were contacted.
“Pacala initially waited in his vehicle but then walked off across the car park.
“Police traced the accused in Asbury Court and he appeared to be intoxicated with his car keys in his hand when he freely admitted the collision.
“He was required to provide a breath sample which tested positive for alcohol and he was cautioned and charged and made no reply.”

Pacala’s defence agent told how the 30-year-old had a house party the night before this incident.
She explained: “A number of friends and Pacala consumed alcohol into the early hours of the morning.
“He fell asleep and when he woke up, he felt fine and without thinking got in the car to go to Tesco which he tells me is about 200metres from his property.
“He told witnesses he had drank wine but this wasn’t before the incident, it was the night previous.”
Sheriff Tom McCartney fined Pacala £640 reduced from £900 for his guilty plea at an undertaking and ordered him to pay this at £100 per month.
In addition, Pacala was banned from driving for 16 months and if he successfully completes the drink drive rehabilitation course a further reduction of four months will be discounted from his ban.
