Dele Alli and Jesse Lingard will turn down approaches from Newcastle United as they won't want to play in a relegation battle.
That is the view of former Aston Villa striker and talkSPORT commentator Gabby Agbonlahor, who has dismissed the prospect of the Magpies signing either attacking midfielder on loan.
Both Alli and Lingard have been linked with a switch to St James' Park in recent months, having struggled for game-time at Tottenham and Manchester United respectively.

Newcastle have held an interest in Lingard since October, but the Red Devils are said to be reluctant to sanction a temporary exit for the England international despite his contract expiring in the summer.
Alli has found himself on the fringes of the Tottenham squad under Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and now Antonio Conte, and there has been talk of a January exit to kickstart the 25-year-old's career.

Eddie Howe's need for defensive reinforcements has seen talk of a move for Sevilla centre-back Diego Carlos dominate the headlines, but reports of an approach for Lingard shows Newcastle are looking to strengthen all over.
However, Agbonlahor insists neither Alli or Lingard will be prepared to make the move to the North East as a result of the Magpies' current struggles in the Premier League.
He told talkSPORT: "He [Lingard] should have gone in the summer. I don't understand how he stays in the summer.
"Just be a bit more realistic, I know you want to back yourself and try and break into the Manchester United midfield, but you've got [Bruno] Fernandes in front of you, [Paul] Pogba in front of you.
"For me, he has to leave in January, but when you hear about the teams that are looking at him and it's come to my attention that Newcastle might want him on loan...I don't think he'll go to Newcastle on loan.
"I think if he wants to go somewhere on loan, he's going to look at a West Ham, a team that's fighting the opposite side of the table.
"He's not going to a relegation battle, he won't want to go there. Dele Alli won't want to go to Newcastle and go into a relegation battle, especially when it's on a loan deal."
It was a view which inevitably attracted attention from Newcastle fans and fellow supporters on social media.

One United fan posted: "He keeps forgetting not everyone is like himself. If we can get [Kieran] Trippier why can't we get Lingard?"
Another supporter wrote: "Playing time guarantee, Qatar 2022 hope and match fitness level will be higher than sitting on the bench at Manchester United and Tottenham respectively."
A third Newcastle fan replied: "It kind of matters where the club will allow him to go though."
