The Ohio State basketball team will be at home Sunday for its home, regular-season finale, and it’s a big one. There’s no shot at a Big Ten title anymore, that scarlet and gray ship sailed with a less-than-stellar week, but there is a shot still at a double-by in the upcoming Big Ten Tournament. Add that to the fact that OSU playing Michigan in anything (queue up the Euchre tournament), and it’s that much bigger.
A Buckeyes’ win in combination with a loss by the Iowa Hawkeyes in the evening at Illinois will make Ohio State the No. 4 seed next week in Indy. Lose, and OSU will have to play an extra game and get the journey started a day earlier.
So, what do the oddsmakers say about the matchup? According to our friends at Tipico Sportsbook, Ohio State is a modest favorite by 4.5 points. That might be a little less than you’d expect for senior day against an arch-rival at home for a ranked ball club, but if you’ve followed this team over the last couple of weeks, it’s hard to predict which one will show up.
