Lindsey Vonn reveals huge milestone in Olympics crash recovery

Lindsey Vonn accomplished a huge milestone whilst appearing at the Met Gala, three months on from her Winter Olympics crash.

In February, the 41-year-old American athlete suffered a leg fracture after crashing hard in the women’s downhill event. She underwent surgery after she was airlifted from the Olimpia delle Tofane piste.

Ahead of her appearance at the star-studded fashion event, Vonn practiced walking without a cane. Sharing the footage online on Tuesday (5 May), Vonn wrote: “Practicing my Met walk!”

The athlete stepped onto the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (4 May) with a custom cane made by designer Thom Browne. As she walked the iconic steps, she left the cane behind.
