Move over, Shania Twain — there's a new queen of comebacks in town, and her name is Lindsay Lohan.
The former child star and supreme ruler of chick flicks has been making headlines recently for all the right reasons, as opposed to her... less than favourable coverage in previous years. She's ditched her wild party-girl rep and embraced a new, more mature persona. Lilo 2.0 is a force to be reckoned with.
From her business ventures (she’s tried her hand at jewellery design with the help of British brand Lily Baker and owns a club in Greece, which is where that iconic dancing video comes from) to her newfound sobriety, the 36-year-old actress is proving that she's got what it takes to make a comeback like no one else and is looking positively radiant while she does it.
Her most recent public appearance? Supporting her siblings as they walked the runway for Christian Siriano at New York Fashion Week.
You’d be forgiven for not knowing that Lindsay Lohan has siblings — they’re all younger than her and it’s taken them time to get established. The most notable appearance of any of her siblings prior to NYFW was Michael Lohan’s brief role of “Lost Boy At Camp” in the Parent Trap.
It wasn’t Michael who took to the runway this week, though. It was Lohan’s younger sister Ali, 29, and the baby of the family, 26-year-old Dakota Lohan (who also goes by Cody), who strutted their stuff, one after the other, for American designer Christian Siriano, who gained fame after winning Project Runway in 2007.
The Lohan siblings are actually all very close, and if you follow Dakota on Instagram you’ll see highlights from their time growing up together, including pictures of Lindsay holding him as a toddler on the set of The Parent Trap (Dakota is ten years younger than his A lister sister), and with Ali and Linsday when she was going through one of her questionable noughties hair phases — of which there were a few.
But they younger siblings were all grown up this week as Lindsay and mother Dina watched on as the pair lapped the catwalk. Lindsay was resplendent in a bronze silk getup, complete with a little cape moment and big blown out curls in her natural colour.
On the front row, Lilo was seated next to Abbott Elementary star and Golden Globe winner Quinta Brunson and fellow chick flick queen Julia Stiles, who also dominated the 2000s movie scene with teen movies like 10 Things I Hate About You and Save The Last Dance. The pair clearly got on well, as Lindsay later posted a selfie of the three of them together, calling her new pals “talented beauties.”
After the show, Lindsay posed with her mum, siblings and Christian Siriano as the group relaxed backstage. When asked whether she felt proud of her siblings by reporters, Lilo said “very”, with her mum Dina adding: “I'm so grateful. What a beautiful show. I'm so proud of Christian as well. It was a mom moment.”
They’re doing amazing, sweetie!
