Linda Pizzuti gives verdict on Liverpool win and shares perfect photo ahead of Paris

Liverpool's success in reaching the Champions League final has delighted Linda Pizzuti, wife of the club's principle owner John Henry, who was full of praise for Jurgen Klopp's Reds.

Despite seeing their 2-0 first leg advantage wiped out by Villarreal in the opening 45 minutes of the second leg on Tuesday evening, goals from Fabinho, Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane reversed Liverpool's fortunes after the break.

It secured a 5-2 aggregate win - and a date in Paris with either Manchester City or Real Madrid on May 28.

It means that Klopp will now lead his team to a remarkable third European Cup final in five seasons, where the Merseyside club will seek to lift the trophy for a seventh time, the prospect of which is very appealing to Linda.

Posting of photo of herself and husband John at the Eiffel Tower from 14 years ago, she wrote: "Paris, 2008. And we are going to Paris in 2022!!!! Liverpool’s third trip to the Champions League Final in 5 years. Bit of a stressful first half, but then made it happen.

"Amazing club. Remarkable team. Just amazing."

After their heroics in Spain, the Reds can now sit back and watch the second semi-final on Wednesday evening, where Liverpool's opponents for the final will be determined.

Should Real Madrid prevail, it will be a repeat of the 1981 final in Paris, in which an Alan Kennedy goal earned Bob Paisley's side a 1-0 victory and the Reds' third European Cup. The two sides also met in 2018 in Kiev, but on that occasion it was the Spanish giants who prevailed, winning 3-1.

But Liverpool's on-going trophy duel with Manchester City could reach its ultimate climax in Paris, should Pep Guardiola's side hold onto their 4-3 first leg advantage in the Bernabeu this evening.
