Lincoln make formal approach for Shamrock Rovers boss Stephen Bradley

Lincoln City have made a formal approach for Shamrock Rovers boss Stephen Bradley as they hope to poach the League of Ireland winning manager.

Bradley had been identified as the top target for the job and the club have now made a formal approach.

And now it is understood that the club have formally approached Bradley and Lincoln and Shamrock Rovers would have to come to an agreement on compensation if he was to leave.

The League One side parted company at the weekend with Michael Appleton after they finished 17th in the table.

The Imps are also thought to be ready to bring Bradley’s assistant Glenn Cronin and Hoops director of football Stephen McPhail to the Sincil Bank Stadium.

Lincoln are not the first English side to be linked with Bradley - MK Dons were interested in the Dubliner last summer.

However, the difference is that City consider him their top target, whereas with MK Dons he was on their shortlist.

Shamrock Rovers currently lie second in the league table, three points behind Derry, and have won back to back titles.
