Lily James has appeared to address her controversial photos with actor Dominic West for the very first time.
Back in October 2020, photos emerged of Dominic - who is married to Catherine - and 32-year-old Lily sharing what looked like an intimate kiss while the pair were in Rome during the production of BBC's The Pursuit of Love.
The bombshell images showed Dominic without his wedding ring as he leaned in to kiss Lily during a romantic-looking meal.
More images saw the pair riding around Rome on a scooter together.
Naturally, the controversial photos made headlines across the globe as Lily James fans slammed the British actress for 'home-wrecking' Dominic and Catherine's marriage.
The couple, who share three children tied the knot in 2010 and appeared to be going from strength-to-strength until the paparazzi photos emerged from Dominic's trip to Rome.
In a new interview to promote her new Hulu drama series, Pam and Tommy, actress Lily appeared to break her silence on the photos for the first time as she compared herself to Pamela Anderson.
While discussing her much-talked about new role with Rolling Stone, Lily admitted that she shares some similarities with Pamela.
Addressing Pam's 'brush with the gossip rags', Lily shared her own experience being plastered all over the headlines.
While the actress had carefully kept her five-year relationship with Doctor Who’s Matt Smith under wraps until their split in 2020, the paparazzi photograph published soon after of her appearing to kiss her married Pursuit co-star Dominic brought a whole new kind of scrutiny.
Lifting the lid on the drama, Lily explained: "Women in the public eye at some point experience some sort of difficult situation in their relationship between privacy and your life being in the tabloids.
“It was a lot. It’s a story as old as time.”
When she was previously asked about finding herself at the centre of a media storm after the pictures emerged, Lily told The Guardian : "Ach, I’m not really willing to talk about that. There is a lot to say, but not now, I’m afraid."
After the photos of Dominic and Lily were released, The Affair star and his wife appeared to put on a united front in a bid to rid themselves of press attention.
Addressing the controversy outside their London home, the couple shared a kiss and placed a handwritten cardboard sign outside their property.
The sign read: “Our marriage is strong and we’re very much still together. Thank you. Catherine and Dominic.”
Following the controversy, it was reported that Dominic 'cut all contact' with Lily.
