Newcastle United fans have called for Federico Fernandez to come straight back into the starting XI for the trip to Leeds United on Saturday.
The Argentine provided an update on Instagram that he was 'feeling better' after recovering from a thigh injury and he could be available for selection heading into this weekend's game at Elland Road.
Fernandez's last appearance came in the 4-0 defeat at Leicester City and was forced to miss the games against Liverpool, Man City, Manchester United, Cambridge United and Watford as a result.
Eddie Howe's side are still searching for their first away win of the season and will be hoping Fernandez's return can help in their bid to stay in the Premier League.
Although Sevilla centre-back Diego Carlos has heavily linked with a move to the club, the Magpies faithful have demanded to see Fernandez back into the side after another defensive error led to Watford's equaliser in the 1-1 draw at St James' Park on the weekend.
Here is what some had to say on social media.
@LiamNUFC98 : Him and Carlos at the back against Leeds away please
@Apkelly1990 : IMO with him back and we can keep him fit until the end of season and new Center back and midfielder I think we will just have enough stay up
@ToonBlackWhite : Can you please get him back for Saturday and let Eddie know he’s our best centre half? Thanks
@bethmann99 : Damn we have missed this guy!! Hope he is back soon!!
@byernysern : GET HIM IN THE TEAM AND BUY ANOTHER CENTRE HALF!!!
@Billy_Bell99 : Desperately need him back in the team. Our best centre half by some distance. #nufc
@DailyNUFC_ : Fernandez with a new CB for Saturday, please.
@GeordieSteveNS3 : He’ll be like a new signing!
@NUFCOpinion1892 : So hope @pajarofernandez is fully fit by the time the Leeds game comes around. He is miles better than the other CBs at the club. Hopefully Carlos signed before then, if not start Fede and Schar! #NUFC
