“Lightweight, compact, powerful.” Fujifilm’s new 400mm f/4.5 takes on sports and wildlife as a brighter, lighter alternative to zooms for X-Mount cameras

Fujifilm XF 400mm f/4.5 R LM OIS WR.

Fujifilm’s longest telephoto prime just got a little sibling. Announced on September 4, the Fujifilm XF400mm f/4.5 R LM OIS WR slots in between the X-series 200mm and 500mm primes, yet comes in lighter and nearly the same length as Fujifilm’s 100-400mm zoom.

The Fujifilm XF400mm f/4.5 R LM OIS WR is meant to fill a gap in Fujifilm’s telephoto lineup, offering a brighter aperture and a bit less reach than the XF500mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR for tighter sports venues – and a lighter profile for wildlife photo hikes.
