It's a little bit of a miracle that LightWave 3D still exists. When 2023 rolled around, LightWave 3D had been in exile for three years, with its last update back in 2020. NewTek and then Vizrt had struggled to make a success of it, but when LightWave Digital bought the software in April 2023, its fortunes began to be turned around.
In November 2023, LightWave 3D 2023 was released with the introduction of a number of long-desired features, including Procedural Geometry Nodes, Turbulence FD, and Text Generator. Then, in July of the following year, the world received LightWave 3D 2024, and nine months later, version 2025 was released. With both came a number of new features aimed at extending the software's functionality.
